Inspired by playwright Michelle Carter's own family history, the new play begins previews Thursday, November 5, and officially opens Friday, November 6.

About a decade ago, award-winning playwright Michelle Carter won an unusual prize at a theatre benefit: the services of a private detective. Carter asked the investigator, a former actor, to explore a mystery surrounding her grandmother's life. Although he uncovered little of what she had originally hoped to learn, his discoveries raised unexpected questions. A chance encounter with someone who knew something of her mother's past provided additional clues. Those unanswered questions eventually helped inspire “DARLIN’."

November brings a mix of creative workshops, live music, movement, and opportunities to connect at the Athens Cultural Center.
